Privacy and cookies
Nurse Injector Shayse operates the public website at nurseinjectorshayse.ca from 8813 63 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 0E9. This page is our notice about Microsoft Clarity on that website.
It also covers online booking with Jane (Jane Software), and how to ask us for access to your information or a correction. Appointment rules, including the card kept on file, are on the terms, booking and cancellation page.
Why we use Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people use the public website: which pages they open, and where they click, scroll, and move the pointer. The purpose is to make the site easier to use. We do not use it to make treatment decisions, and we do not use it to collect health information.
Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) expect an organization to identify why it collects information and to obtain consent. This website does not show a cookie banner. This page is the notice. If you keep using the site, you are doing so with that notice. You can opt out at any time using the steps below, and you can ask a privacy question using the contact details at the end of this page.
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity is a website analytics product from Microsoft. On this site it records how the page is displayed and how a visit unfolds, including mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls. Session recordings are an animation of the page and those actions, not a camera recording of you. Heatmaps are a combined picture of clicks and scrolling. Microsoft distinguishes each browser and each device separately. Microsoft also uses the IP address to estimate location.
Microsoft processes this information and stores it in Microsoft Azure. Microsoft’s description of the product is in the Clarity privacy FAQ. Microsoft’s handling of personal information is in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
All text on the page is masked, and so are forms and fields you can type into. Microsoft masks the contents of input fields in every masking mode. We do not send your name, email, phone number, or health details to Clarity. The address of the page you opened can still be included in the click data Microsoft keeps. Clarity does not run on the Jane booking site at nurseinjectorshayse.janeapp.com. That site is separate, and this website does not add Clarity to it.
Cookies Clarity sets
Microsoft’s cookie documentation lists the cookies below, with the purpose shown here. That page does not state how long each cookie remains in the browser. If cookies are turned off in your browser, Clarity does not set them. The list is from Clarity cookies.
_clck
First-party, set by this website
Keeps the Clarity user ID and preferences for this site, so a later visit is attributed to the same ID.
_clsk
First-party, set by this website
Connects several page views into one Clarity session recording.
CLID
Third-party, set by Microsoft
Identifies the first time Clarity saw this browser on any site that uses Clarity.
ANONCHK
Third-party, set by Microsoft
Indicates whether MUID is transferred to ANID, a cookie used for advertising. Clarity does not use ANID, so this flag is set to 0.
MR
Third-party, set by Microsoft
Indicates whether to refresh MUID.
MUID
Third-party, set by Microsoft
Identifies unique web browsers visiting Microsoft sites. Microsoft uses it for advertising, site analytics, and other operational purposes.
SM
Third-party, set by Microsoft
Used to synchronize the MUID across Microsoft domains.
How long Microsoft keeps the data
Microsoft publishes these retention periods for Clarity. After the period, the data on Clarity’s servers, including backups, is deleted and cannot be recovered. Source: Clarity data retention.
- Playback recordings: 30 days.
- Click data shown in Clarity, including the page address, user ID, and pointer distance: 9 months.
- Heatmaps: 9 months.
- Sessions that are labeled or marked as favorites: 9 months.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 can be connected inside the Clarity dashboard. That connection is a setting in Clarity, not extra code on this website. Microsoft’s guide says the connection lets Clarity display Google Analytics information beside recordings and heatmaps, and that Clarity does not send playback addresses to Google Analytics 4. See Google Analytics integration and GA4 integration.
How to opt out
- Use your browser’s cookie settings to block or delete cookies. Microsoft says Clarity does not set cookies when cookies are disabled.
- Opt out of Clarity telemetry through the Digital Advertising Alliance page Microsoft links from its FAQ: optout.aboutads.info. Microsoft also points to the Protect My Choices browser tool at youradchoices.com/pmc.
- Clarity supports the Global Privacy Control signal.
- Clarity’s terms are at clarity.microsoft.com/terms.
Microsoft says Clarity does not currently follow the browser Do Not Track signal. Blocking cookies, or using the opt-out above, is the control Microsoft documents.
Online booking with Jane
We use Jane (Jane Software) for online booking. Records that Jane holds are under Jane's privacy practices.
When you book, the details you enter in Jane are collected there. That includes your name, how we should reach you, the visit you chose, and the card kept on file. The card on file confirms identity and is how late-cancellation and no-show fees are enforced. It is not used to pay for appointments or deposits.
If your question is about a record you entered while booking, contact the clinic with the email or phone at the end of this page. Jane's own notice describes how Jane handles the records it holds. Clarity, described above, does not run on the Jane booking site.
Alberta law
We handle personal information under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). The Health Information Act applies where it covers health information we hold.
Which statute applies can depend on the information and on the care. If you are not sure which one covers a record you are asking about, contact us through the email on this page and we will explain how we are treating that request.
Access and correction
To ask for access to your personal information, or to ask us to correct it, email nurseinjectorshayse@gmail.com or call +1 780-268-4187. Those are the contact details already published on this site. When you can, write from the email address we already have for you, and tell us what you want to see or what you believe should be changed. We reply by email or by phone.
